Muslim Women's Perspective in Restructuring Wealth Portfolio during Sluggish Economy

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to explain how different groups of women restructure their wealth portfolio and take benefits from Islamic instruments during the pandemic.  It examines if there is any difference of preferred investment instruments before and after pandemic.

Methodology: The main data sources are the questionnaires distributed to some selected groups of women. This study analyses the responses of the different groups and examines the statistical difference among the groups and their wealth portfolio during this pandemic era.

Findings: The results reveal that the investment preference is statistically different before and during pandemic. In addition, the respondents show how they prioritize their expenditures during the pandemic.

Practical Implication: Risk sensitivity is one factor to be considered during investment decision making process and creating wealth portfolio management.

Originality: The paper focuses on Muslim women who behave differently such as during Covid-19 pandemic which is not found in many research papers in the same period of time.
